OABBuild v1.0 for VB6

This is now available for download form here. The version you can download is fully working but limited to 100 builds or 60 days. After that time it will stop working.

OABBuild is designed to help you manage VB6 on real projects in the real world where there are one or more teams of developers.

OAB Build automates all of the things that make performing a daily / weekly systems build so tedious and error prone.

OABBuild is fully configurable for your site and your project. It is designed to work seamlessly with Visual Basic 6 and Visual Source Safe 6.

Here are some of the things that it can do Today.

• Build a VB6 Project.
• Integrate with source safe - Check out files, label builds, Add files.
• Maintain a build history file.
• Update the dependencies in a VB6P if necessary and if requested
• Update the Compatible Exe if necessary and if requested
• Break Compatibility and recompile if necessary
• Enforce site build standards
• Update version numbers automatically
• Be Configured for Site, User and a particular VB6P.

This is what it will do in the near future (at no extra cost to you)

• Build a system - build VB6P's in order, upgrade references etc.
• GUI management of dependency information.

OABBuild has been tested with VB6 and VSS6. It will work with earlier versions of 32bit VB6. It has not been tested with VS5.

Download Instructions

1. Please read the Licensing and Disclaimer before downloading.
2. To download the trial version (2Mb) click here.
3. Run OABBuild1.Exe to unzip it.
4. Run Setup.Exe to install OABBuild v1.0
5. Take a look at ReadMe.Doc for detailed configuration information.
6. Run the application. This will associate it with VB6P files.
7. From now on you can either run the app. directly or right click on a VB6P.

After 60 days/100 builds this Trial version will stop working.

Licensing - Trial Version

This is not free software. Subject to the terms below, you are hereby licensed to use this software for evaluation purposes without charge for a period of up to 60 days / 100 builds. If you wish to continue to use the software beyond the trial period you will need to purchase a License.

The Trial version may be distributed freely provided that it is distributed complete with all supporting files and that no charge is made for distribution.

Licensing - Registered Version

You may access the registered version of OABBuild through a network, provided that you have obtained individual licenses for the software covering all workstations that will access the software through the network. For instance, if 8 different workstations will access OABBuild on the network, each workstation must have its own OABBuild license, regardless of whether they use OABBuild at different times or concurrently. No registered user may alter or modify the software. You cannot give anyone else permission to modify the software.

One registered copy of OABBuild (1 Seat) may either be used by a single person who uses the software personally on one or more computers, or installed on a single workstation used non-simultaneously by multiple people, but not both.
